Overview

The Leave Application app within MyLIMS is designed to streamline the process of applying for, adjusting, and approving leave requests. The system ensures transparency and efficiency by keeping both staff and HOD Approvers informed of the status of leave applications.

Submitting a Leave Application

To submit a leave application, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to the MyLIMS system.

  2. Navigate to the Leave Application section.

  3. Click on the "New" button.

  4. Fill in the required details such as the leave type, start date, end date, reason or and any supporting documents.

  5. Submit the application for approval.

Upon submission, the system will notify the respective department HOD Approver for review.

Adjusting a Leave Application

If your leave application has not yet been approved by the HOD, you can make adjustments. To adjust your leave application:

  1. Access your submitted leave application from the Leave Application section.

  2. Make the necessary changes to the leave details.

  3. Save and resubmit the application.

The system will automatically notify the HOD Approver of any adjustments made to the leave application.

Leave Approval Process

Once a leave application is submitted:

  1. The HOD Approver receives a notification to review the application.

  2. The HOD Approver can either approve or reject the leave application.

  3. If approved, the leave will be automatically deducted from the Employee’s Leave Balance Table.

  4. If rejected, the staff member will be notified, and no changes will be made to the leave balance.

Viewing Leave Application History

Staff members can view their complete leave application history by:

  1. Navigating to the Leave Application section.

  2. Selecting the "My Leave" Listing.

  3. Browsing through the list of submitted leave applications along with their statuses (approved, rejected, pending).

Managing Leave Requests as an HOD Approver

HOD Approvers have specific functionalities to manage leave requests:

  1. Pending My Approval: View and manage all leave applications that are awaiting approval.

  2. Approved: Access a list of all previously approved leave applications.

  3. Notification: Receive notifications for new leave applications and any adjustments made by staff members.

To approve or reject a leave application:

  1. Go to the "Pending My Approval" section.

  2. Select the leave application you wish to review.

  3. Choose to either approve or reject the application.

  4. Submit your decision. The staff member will be notified accordingly.
